Practicalities
The code is written with a focus on ensuring a safe space for all participants at the seminar.

Opening of the seminar

All together, we're going to kick off the Youth, Peace and Security - Nordic Youth Seminar!
Allianssi and DUF, who are hosting the seminar, will welcome everyone. And Joel Linnainmäki will give an opening speech.
Joel was involved in the Finnish national process on the Youth, Peace and Security agenda in the very beginning. He also served as Special Adviser to Pekka Haavisto during his term as Foreign Minister. Currently Joel works for FIIA - Finnish Institute of International Affairs as a researcher on Finnish foreign policy, security in Northern Europe and NATO.

Everyone will be part of a Reflection group during the seminar.
This group will be your “core group” during the seminar. We will start and end each day together with this group. The idea is to allow you a bit of time at the start of each day, and the end of each day to reflect on how you are and what you want to get out of the day.
Each group consists of app. 8 people and is part of a Homeroom that will be facilitated by your main contact person.
You have received an email with information about your Reflection group, Homeroom and contact person.

You will have the opportunity to present yourself, your role, your organization to help us get an overview of all the cool possible connections to be made during the seminar!

Nordic future – Possibilities and obstacles / Foreningen Norden

In this workshop we will discuss different complex themes in correlation to” Youth, peace and security” in the Nordic countries.
You will be given the chance to discuss opportunities and obstacles based on the given topics with the other participants, and together come up with solutions for various issues that affect citizens in the Nordic region.

In this session you will discuss the basics of the resolution as well as share ideas on how to adopt the resolution in your home country!

Focus themes: Climate, peace, democracy, education, and youth rights.
In this session you have the chance to connect with other people interested in the focus themes.
And you will be provided with a framework and different tools to share knowledge, create ideas, start planning a cooperation, get inspiration on how to fundraise, and much more.

Overview on The Finnish National Action Plan and its implementation

In Skiftnyckel
To implement UN Resolution 2250, Finland was the first country in the world to adopt a National Action Plan on Youth, Peace and Security.
In the session you will learn more on the process as well as the National Action Plan's targets and measures, and share experiences on implementing National Action Plans in other countries.
It is recommended that you skim through the Finland's National Ation Plan beforehand (in English).

Talk w. Dr. Saira Yamin: Learnings from Women, Peace and Security

Dr. Saira Yamin, Chair of Women, Peace and Security, will join us together with Youth, Peace and Security-expert Joel Linnainmäki for a talk on what we can learn from the Women, Peace and Security-agenda as well as what the next steps in our work on Youth, Peace and Security could be.
Common session: Becoming Ambassadors of Nordic cooperation

In this common session we will give you inspiration, an understanding of your own role and the potential within it, as well as a game that you can take home and do with your organizations - to further encourage curiosity about Nordic cooperation and the possibilities in the Nordics.

The aim of this workshop is to provide you with tools you can use when involved in decisionmaking processes.
We will talk about how you can align expectations before entering into a decision making process. And we will work with the "Ladder of participation" as a way to understand different degrees of youth participation.

The Finnish national action plan advocacy - Best practices and the role of the youth

Do you want to do advocacy on Youth, Peace and Security but don't really know where to start?
Or are you already experienced and would like to share your learnings with others?
This workshop will help you to do advocacy work on the YPS agenda.
During the session, you will learn more on the advocacy work for the Finnish National Action Plan and get an understanding of the advocacy work basics!
Finding the money for your Nordic project

Getting funding for your ideas and projects is an important part of making them come to life.
